Late 2010 to early 2011 brought one of the harshest New York winters to date - one that would afford two long-time friends Alberto Hernandez (Enoe) and Andrew Siedenburg (Kodachrome) the perfect environment to focus their productions as Background Sound.
Their individual musical tastes, though wide-ranging, find likeness in the pair's adolescence, converging on echoes of 90's electronic sounds the likes of Aphex Twin and Bjork, soulful R&B, and hip-hop - setting their dynamic on the same plane. The depth of their sound falls beneath the layered samples, washed over sub basses and tightly locked rhythms, toward something more visceral and submerged.
